Attachment Based Therapy
with Vanessa Samson, Therapist
Attachment is at the core of how we show up in relationships, and it’s the foundation of my training and the work I do with clients.
Do you find yourself repeating the same relationship patterns?
Do you feel anxious or unsure in close relationships?
Do you struggle to trust or feel secure with others?
Attachment doesn’t only show up in romantic relationships - it is at the core of how we relate to friends, family, and coworkers. My attachment therapy takes all of these into account.
Clients Come To Me When They’re:
Overthinking a relationship
Struggling at work or romantically
Don’t know what they want
Attracted to unavailable partners
Stuck in cycles of unsatisfying relationships
Struggling to communicate needs
Wanting to understand why patterns keep repeating
How Therapy With Me Helps
We’ll begin by exploring your attachment style and how your earliest relationships shaped the way you connect today.
From there, we’ll identify your needs, learn how to communicate them, and build healthier patterns across your relationships.

About Me
This work is personal to me. I didn’t grow up with a strong model for secure relationships, and understanding my own attachment helped me build something different.
That’s why I believe in this work so deeply.
I’m very engaged in the process. This isn’t a space where you just vent and leave. We’re working together to understand what’s happening and what to do about it.
Clients often describe me as collaborative, reflective, and very involved. We work together, not just talk.
Outside of therapy, I’m a mom to two kids, ages 19 months and 7, and part of a biracial family. I’ve lived in New York City and abroad in Mexico, and I’ve spent time doing volunteer work in Colombia. I’m drawn to understanding different cultures and how family dynamics show up across the world,
When I’m not with clients or my family, I’m usually reading fiction, going to museums, or exploring street art. There’s also a lot of music in our home, especially reggaeton thanks to my youngest.
